Convenience trends for the out-of-home market

The advantages of convenience products are obvious: they save time without sacrificing quality. Leading manufacturers present their newest products at INTERNORGA 2019.

Soups, vegetables, desserts, pastries or pasta – convenience products are available in great variety today. They are primarily used because they save time and they are permanently available. Statistics published by the German Frozen Food Institute show that the sales of frozen foods in the out-of-home market have increased to 1.89 million tons in 2017. Manufacturers are constantly developing new products based on new market developments.

Currently in trend are products with less or no meat at all. Among the most popular are champignon patties and vegan burger buns based on ancient grains or, for those who prefer the Asian model, rice flour. Besides the many savoury products such as lentil lasagna or finger-shaped sweet potato dumplings, there is a great variety of sweet products as well. Fruity cakes or lime mousse are only two examples among many. The newest products are presented by renowned international manufacturers such as Délifrance, Dr. Oetker Professional or TULIP at INTERNORGA 2019.
