Sustainability in the out-of-home market

INTERNORGA 2020 is once again a platform for sustainable businesses and eco-friendly start-ups to present their innovative green ideas to a trade public. This year there is a special focus on alternatives to plastic.

INTERNORGA 2020 is a showcase for the diverse products and providers in the sustainable food service market. As the leading international trade show for the entire out-of-home industry, INTERNORGA attracts a wide range of exhibitors, including newcomers and start-ups such as Metalstraws GbR, a metal straw manufacturer contributing to the reduction of plastic waste, or textiles company Kaya & Kato, which combines plastic waste from the oceans with natural fibres to make sustainable workwear.

“Guest awareness about the importance of avoiding waste, particularly plastic waste, is definitely becoming more significant in the food service market. An increasing number of providers have embraced the philosophy of sustainability and come up with some creative concepts and innovative ideas. That’s why sustainability is such an important topic at INTERNORGA,” said Claudia Johannsen, Business Unit Director at Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH.
