More varied than ever: all the highlights of INTERNORGA 2023 at a glance

Always improving: INTERNORGA, the leading international trade fair for the entire foodservice and hospitality market, will take place from 10 to 14 March in the Hamburg exhibition halls with a number of new formats. The focus is on interaction between colleagues and experts on the main topics affecting the industry. After a three-year break due to the coronavirus pandemic, the popular Next Chef Award will return with celebrity chef Johann Lafer and other well-known representatives of the culinary arts. What’s new at INTERNORGA 2023

INTERNORGA Open Stage | Hall A3 | Daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. 
The wide variety of topics relevant to the industry is reflected in the diverse schedule for the new INTERNORGA Open Stage in Hall A3. In numerous input sessions and panel discussions, industry insiders will share their expertise on subjects such as the opportunities of cannabis legalisation, digitalisation, ghost kitchens, artificial intelligence and robotics.

AI CENTER | Hall A3 | Booth A3.629
The potential of artificial intelligence in the foodservice and hospitality market is still largely untapped. INTERNORGA and AI.HAMBURG want to change that. The new AI CENTER in Hall A3, Booth 629, offers start-ups a platform to present their solutions for restaurants and the hotel industry, among other sectors. The focus is on specific measures and applications with which, among other things, the customer experience, personnel matters, enterprise resource management, processes, sustainability and much more within an organisation can be optimised and made more efficient.

What The Food! – by foodlab | Between Hall B3 upper floor and Hall B4 upper floor | Daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The What The Food! stage brings you the hottest topics and trends in the food sector. New work, sustainability, International & Futures Food and digitalisation are among the topics that will be covered in masterclasses, talks, live pitches and panel discussions. The stage provides fresh impetus and brings the start-up scene to life. The individual panels will be presented by industry insiders such as Christin Siegemund from foodlab Hamburg, chef and author Antje de Vries from F&B Heroes and Dr Hendrik Susemihl from GoodBytz.

INTERNORGA OFF THE RECORD | Hall B5 | 11 to 13 March, 5.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.
The OFF THE RECORD Afterwork Lounge premieres at this year’s INTERNORGA. Exhibitors and visitors are invited to round off the day together in a relaxed atmosphere on Saturday, Sunday and Monday evening. A spectacular 20-metre-long bar, chilled lounge areas, drinks, snacks and music from a live DJ await the INTERNORGA crowd in Hall B5 from 5.30 p.m. Admission and drinks are free of charge.

Conferences 

International Foodservice Forum | Congress Center Hamburg (CCH), Room 1 | 9 March 2023, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. 
To kick off INTERNORGA on Thursday, 9 March, the International Foodservice Forum 2023 will once again host a top-class industry meeting. The CCH, in the immediate vicinity of the exhibition grounds, brings together the people who drive the foodservice and hospitality market with entrepreneurial spirit and smart ideas. The programme of major players in the industry for 2023 includes plant-based potential, brand management, digitalisation and team building. On the stage of this year’s edition of the largest conference of its kind in Europe, with over 2,000 national and international participants, are the TV football pundit and former professional footballer Bastian Schweinsteiger and presenter and sports journalist Gerhard Delling, among others. They will be discussing the importance of successful team building in challenging times.

German catering congress | Congress Center Hamburg, Room 4 | 13 March 2023, 9 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.
On Monday, 13 March, community catering professionals will gather at the CCH for the 47th German catering congress. Under the motto ‘GREEN in the future’, it will be all about new ideas, clever concepts and effective solutions to ensure sustainability in the industry. Together with gvpraxis, the trade magazine for professional community catering, industry representatives will provide insights into their strategies and offer useful recommendations for action.

German Gastro Start-Up Award | Room Chicago | March 10, 1.30 p.m.
The German Gastro Start-Up Award is presented by the Leaders Club, INTERNORGA and orderbird. Which of the six finalists wins the renowned industry prize will be decided on the first day of the trade fair, Friday, 10 March, at 1:30 p.m. in front of a live audience in Room Chicago at Hamburg Messe und Congress.

Next Chef Award | East Foyer upper floor | 12 and 13 March 
The Next Chef Award is back at INTERNORGA after a three-year break. Over two days, the leading international trade fair for the foodservice and hospitality market and celebrity chef Johann Lafer will be looking for the best up-and-coming chef. 17 fresh talents will demonstrate their skills in three challenges in front of a live audience and a top-class expert jury.

Pizza Experience | Hall B6, Booth B6.250
With pizza workshops, pizza acrobatics shows and live inspiration, it’s all about the fine art of creative pizza baking at Booth B6.250 in Hall B6. Together with the Berlin-based pizza school run by Umberto Napolitano, both masters of their craft and up-and-coming talents will present new ideas and techniques. Highlights at the trade fair include the 10th German Championship of Pizza Bakers on 13 March 2023 and the 1st European Pizza Championships Germany on 14 March.

A particular highlight at INTERNORGA is the spectacular Skywalk Table on the glass bridge between Hall A1 and Hall B1. The table decoration shows at a glance how the future of crockery, cutlery and the like will look.
