Rail and Lufthansa strike

The strikes announced by Lufthansa ground staff (Thursday, March 7, 4:00 a.m. to Saturday, March 9, 7:10 a.m.) and the German Train Drivers' Union (Thursday, March 7, 2 a.m. to Friday, March 8, 1 p.m.) may affect your travel plans to Hamburg.

To ensure that your arrival and departure to INTERNORGA on March 8 and the International Foodservice Forum on March 7 goes as smoothly as possible despite the strike announcement, we have compiled some information for you below.

If you have any questions about the strike or other trade fair-related topics, please call our service hotline on 040 3569 3434.

We wish you a safe and healthy journey to Hamburg.

During the GDL strike, Deutsche Bahn is offering a basic service for long-distance, regional and suburban rail services. The basic offer is available via the timetable information at www.bahn.de and in the DB Navigator.

AKN and nordbahn are not expected to be affected by the strike, and Metronom and Flix trains will also be running

Please note that a limited number of parking spaces are available directly at the exhibition grounds. It is to be expected that the parking spaces will be filled quickly. You can find an overview of the parking spaces around the exhibition grounds here: www.hamburg-messe.de/services/anreise-uebernachtung/auto

We also recommend that you use the Park+Ride facilities and then continue your journey by public transport (preferably by subway during the strike). You can find an overview map here: www.pr.hamburg/p-r-anlagen

In addition to the P+R facilities and the parking lots around the exhibition grounds, we also offer you the opportunity to park at the Volksparkstadion on Friday, March 8, and take the convenient bus shuttle to INTERNORGA from there.

Please use the Arenen Gelb parking lot (Sylvesterallee 7, 22525 Hamburg).

From there, a bus will take you to the INTERNORGA Mitte entrance every 20 minutes and back again later in the day.

Timetable:

9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from the yellow parking lot (Sylverstallee 7) to INTERNORGA approx. every 20 minutes

1 p.m. to 4 p.m. as required

4 p.m. to 7 p.m. from the Mitte entrance to the Gelb parking lot approx. every 20 minutes

The S-Bahn is also affected by the strike, so passengers are advised to use subway trains and buses if possible. The S-Bahn is expected to offer an emergency timetable every 20 minutes: www.s-bahn-hamburg.de
