From networking to infotainment: the whole foodservice and hospitality market is on show at INTERNORGA 2024

The countdown to INTERNORGA is on. From exciting competitions and stage performances to high-quality congresses, a diverse informative and entertaining programme will once again be presented at the at the Hamburg Messe und Congress trade fair halls from 8 to 12 March 2024. But above all, the leading trade fair for the foodservice and hospitality market is so popular because it offers so many opportunities for the sector to come together and interact, whether it is at the OFF THE RECORD afterwork event or in Café FUTURE live.

Stage programme

INTERNORGA Open Stage: Hall A3, Booth 537, daily from 11 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.
Industry experts will share their know-how on topics including digitalisation, artificial intelligence, recruitment and sustainability in exciting panel discussions on the stage for innovative ideas and expert knowledge. The panellists will include Billy Wagner from Nobelhart & Schmutzig, Jochen Pinsker from Circana, Jörg Reuter from Food Campus Berlin and Johannes Reichenbach from Hungry Lions Group. What The Food! – by foodlab: between Hall B3 Upper Floor and B4 Upper Floor, daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Beginners welcome! This is where everyone who is shaking up the industry with fresh ideas and bringing the start-up scene to life comes together. The presentations, live pitches and panel discussions are all about topics such as new work, sustainability, international and future food, and digitalisation. The speakers who have already been announced include industry giants such as Dr Hendrik Susemiehl and Karl-Heinz Krämer (GoodBytz) and Antje de Vries (F&B Heroes), together with many other experts. Pink Cube: Open Stage, Hall A3
The home of trends: the cool Pink Cube provides information on the latest developments in the food and beverages sector. Trend researcher Karin Tischer will be providing vibrant insights into what lies ahead in short presentations several times a day. Guest speakers have also been announced for the Saturday of the trade fair, including Haya Molcho (NENI) and Georg Broich (Broich Hospitalitygroup). Further information about the Pink Cube.

Back Stage: Hall A3, Booth 427
Baking craftsmanship at its best: master bakers and up-and-coming talents from the Hamburg Confectioners’ Guild will be presenting refined processing techniques for sugar, chocolate, marzipan and other staples of confectionery. NEW: BBQ – Place (Mammut Catering): outdoor area between Halls A1 and A2
What’s on the BBQ menu? The Mammut Catering team knows its onions and will be presenting the hottest trends from the grill and BBQ sector al fresco together with numerous industry partners. BBQ world champion Oliver Sievers from Streetfood, Ralf ‘Bob’ Mechlinski from Tex Mex Food and chef and TV presenter Mario Kotaska will be among the guests.

OFF THE RECORD: Hall B5, 9 to 11 March from 5.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.
A fresh take on the after-work lounge: the place to celebrate, relax and network with live music and performances after an exciting day at the trade fair. Further information about OFF THE RECORD.

Café FUTURE live: Upper Floor Central Entrance, daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Welcome to the living and working room for the industry at INTERNORGA! Interesting industry talks and culinary highlights away from the hustle and bustle of the trade fair await. DEHOGA Club: Foyer B4 Upper Floor, Booth 325
The meeting place for the hotel and catering industry, for all DEHOGA members. It provides a modern and relaxed atmosphere in which to exchange ideas with colleagues. The DEHOGA regional associations of Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Bremen, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Lippe and Saxony-Anhalt are looking forward to seeing you there. NEW: freakstotable: Hall B7, Booth 303
A 130-square-metre oasis in the style of ‘Alice in Wonderland’, surrounded by construction fences and furnished with cosy vintage sofas, this is the new place to relax and enjoy inspiring conversations. The freakstotable association, which is dedicated to sharing and preserving knowledge about food as a cultural asset, value creation, ethics and enjoyment, will be using the booth to present manufacturers that offer high-quality and sustainably produced food.

 

Competitions

German Gastro Start-Up Award: Chicago Room, Central Entrance Third Floor, 8 March at 2 p.m.
The well-known German Gastro Start-Up Award recognises start-ups that bring a breath of fresh air to the sector. Five of them will be put to the public vote in the exciting final. Get involved! Next Chef Award: East Entrance Upper Floor, 10 & 11 March, final on 11 March at 3 p.m.
With this coveted award, INTERNORGA and TV chef Johann Lafer recognise up-and-coming chefs who stand out thanks to their culinary skills. The competition is one of the most prestigious in the industry, and the creative range of the young chefs is showcased in exciting live challenges. INTERNORGA Future Award: Open Stage, Hall A3, 8 March at 10:30 a.m.
The INTERNORGA Future Award honours companies that distinguish themselves through sustainable strategies and responsible action and whose solutions act as a role model for the entire industry. It is regarded as one of the most important national and international awards in the foodservice and hospitality market. One company will be selected as the winner in each of the categories ‘Food & Beverages’, ‘Technology & Equipment’ and ‘Catering & Hotel Industry’. Pizza Experience: Hall B6, Booth 248
The stage is set for the world’s most famous flat bread: INTERNORGA will be presenting new ideas and processing techniques and introducing master pizza makers and young creative talents together with the Berlin Pizza School. Highlights at the booth include the 11th German Pizza Baking Championships on 11 March and the 2nd European Pizza Excellence Germany on 12 March. Benvenuti a tutti! Congresses

International Foodservice Forum: CCH, Hall 1, 7 March from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
A long-standing tradition in the industry: the International Foodservice Forum takes place on the day before INTERNORGA and is regarded as Europe’s biggest congress for professional catering. Guests include exciting and well-known entrepreneurs such as McWin co-founder Henry McGovern, Mario Federico from McDonald’s and Gamze Cizreli from BigChefs. Football star Lukas Podolski will also be providing exclusive insights into his kebab concept Mangal X LP10. Further information about the International Foodservice Forum.

German Catering Congress: CCH, Hall 4, 11 March from 9:30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.
This is where managers, specialist planners and management consultants get the chance to talk and find out about the latest developments in the catering industry through panel discussions and presentations. The congress is organised by the trade journal gvpraxis. Okan Saiti from Mammas Canteen, Rainer Roehl from a’verdis and Karin Tischer from food & more in Kaarst will be among those taking part. AI CENTER: Hall A3, Booth 629
Hard-working start-ups will be presenting the latest developments in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. Companies can find out which tools and applications could support them in their day-to-day business, how they can work more efficiently with the help of AI and how they can use it to help shape the future of the industry. Newcomers’ Area: Hall B4 Upper Floor
The place to be for exciting flavour experiences and other surprises from the world of hospitality. This is where innovative start-ups will be presenting their products, concepts and solutions for the first time. In their own way, each of the exhibitors will demonstrate just how diverse and inventive the industry is. Among the companies waiting to be discovered there are The Raging Pig Company with its vegan pork alternatives and Faitron with its innovative lunch boxes. Skywalk Table: Bridge between A and B areas
From an accessory to a spectacular eye-catcher: table decor is centre stage on the Skywalk Table. On a 40-metre-long table, well-known manufacturers demonstrate how best to present crockery, cutlery, napkins and the like. It’s not only stylish, but also whets the appetite. Food Truck Village: Forecourt by the Central Entrance
Whether it is pizza or currywurst, Asian cuisine or vegan delicacies, indulgence on wheels can be found in front of the Hamburg Messehallen trade fair halls. The pros from the food truck sector will be providing information about their industry and impressively demonstrating just how diverse mobile street food cuisine is. NEW: THE SOCIAL KITCHEN: Hall B4 Upper Floor, Booth 326
The new format THE SOCIAL KITCHEN by STARCOOK & INTERNORGA facilitates the connection between visitors and exhibitors from the out-of-home market with personalities from the social media sphere. Additionally, everyone can look forward to insights from personalities such as Johann Lafer or last year’s Next Chef Award winner Anne Brandes. Also announced to attend are food influencers Sandra Mühlberg, food creator Nicole Biernath  and many other creators..
