Welcome to the German Gastro Start-up Award 2022!

Start-up support and networking - from the first flash of inspiration to a cult shop? Start-ups from Germany, Austria and Switzerland had until 10 December 2021 to submit their gastronomic concepts at www.gastro-gruenderpreis.de. Whether you are a different kind of culinary thinker, a healthy do-gooder, a crazy revolutionary or a down-to-earth all-rounder: anyone who wants to shape the gastronomy of tomorrow with their creative idea can take part.

Three steps to the winner's podium - final at INTERNORGA on 30 April 2022

The selection process was divided into three stages: After an initial pre-selection, the 30 best concepts entered a social media voting on Facebook. The concept with the most interactions automatically secured a place among the top 10. The other nine finalists were determined by a jury of experts.

The ten semi-finalists will travel to Hamburg where they will present their concepts to a jury of 15 renowned experts, including star chef Max Scholl and his wife Ilona from the Berlin restaurant Tulus Lotrek as well as the Hamburg restaurateur and entrepreneur Patrick Rüther. This is where things get really serious: the jury will select the five most promising concepts according to the criteria of innovation, profitability and personality of the founders.

Finally, at INTERNORGA on 30 April 2022, the trade audience present will have the big choice of deciding on the main winning concept by live voting after five-minute live pitches.

 

 


And the winner is...

Flieten Franz

Winner 2022

This year's German Gastro Start-up Award goes to Flieten Franz in Trier. This was decided by the public at the exciting finale of the competition on April 30, 2022 via live voting at INTERNORGA. Max Laux, founder of Flieten Franz, can look forward not only to the main prize of 10,000 euros, but also to advice from the Leaders Club and participation in the high-profile INTERNORGA events, as well as much recognition from the industry.

Flieten Franz offers high-quality snack cuisine in Trier. In the "Fressbude" and the food trailer "Maggiwürfel" everything is fresh and homemade. In addition to Flieten - which are crispy chicken wings served with various dips - there are changing BBQ specials in the iconic setting.

Who are the organisers

The German Gastro Founders Award is organised by INTERNORGA, the leading international trade fair for the entire out-of-home market, Leaders Club Deutschland, the network for people and companies enthusiastic about gastronomy, and orderbird, the leading iPad cash register system for the gastronomy sector. The competition is supported and promoted by the industry companies ETL ADHOGA, Melitta and VEGA's Gastro Academy. With more than 400 applicants each year, the competition is the largest competition for young gastronomy founders from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
