Next Chef Award 2020 – portraits of the seven contestants

The Next Chef Award at INTERNORGA is always a nerve-racking experience. This year 18 young chefs will be competing for the title in exciting live challenges. Here are portraits of seven of them

Who will be Next Chef 2020? The answer can be found at INTERNORGA, where 18 young chefs have accepted the challenge to cook for the title. One of them is Tetiana Bielova from Strandhotel Glücksburg. The 22-year-old has already won a bronze medal at the Regional Apprentices Championship in Schleswig-Holstein, and she and her team won the Helmut Roock Cup for first place at the Flensburg Chefs Club.

Rene Dybek from the Klosterpforte restaurant at Hotel Residence in Marienfeld has already worked at the Michelin star restaurant Jellyfish in Hamburg, at the famous Vier Speicherstadt restaurant and as head chef at Claudios in Hamburg.

20-year-old Lukas Baumgartner is the youngest contestant in the Next Chef Award 2020. The young sommelier is now chef de partie at Hotel Grand Ferdinand in Vienna.

Marc Moog has worked at Schloss Burg in Solingen, at Alpina Zillertal, at Carls Brasserie in Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie concert hall and at the East Hotel. He is currently junior sous chef, working under Jonas Straube – Next Chef Award winner in 2016 - at the Coast by East restaurant in Hamburg.

Christoph Behnke did his apprenticeship at The Westin Grand Berlin before going to work on the Aida Diva cruise ship. Today he is Chef de Partie at the trends Solar-Restaurant in Berlin.

Vanessa Westhöfer trained at Nassauer Hof Hotel in Wiesbaden before moving to Wiesbaden as commis de cuisine at Martino Kitchen. Today, alongside her home economics degree, she works as commis de cuisine at Burg Gleiberg in Giessen.

Stefan Roglmeier stayed on at Hotel Platzl in central Munich after finishing his apprenticeship there. Today he is chef de partie.
